suede.leather.and florals oh my!

so instead of being a good student and doing homework after I finished my paper, i checked out my three favorite ladies...Elle, vogue, and nylon. I'm starting to see a new trend aside from 80's revival, or some form of black head to toe...natural fabrics and rich designs. My new love affair is with a pair of cerulean christian louboutins, paired with a cheap-chic thakoon for target floral dress, and a balenciaga bag you get a more professional downtown/soho vibe. Plus, the proenza and nini ricci booties are very dainty but could be toughened up with a nice pair of dark skinnys. The second i have time to get to target im purchasing the target dress and putting it in the closet until it finally gets above 20 degrees!

Glitter isn't just for drag queens anymore-nylon

does anyone know how long it takes to get a magazine after you've subscribed? because i am well overdue for my issue of Nylon! Since it is one of the only websites blocked at my highschool wandering around nylonmag.com is how i spend my class time: screw actually working and going to college, im going to be a designer!, i would love to hear a teachers reaction to that one.
but in a (semi) recent article nylon told me it's okay to pretend your in 6th grade...GLITTERS IN! i was so happy, because my mom always tells me that urban decay liquid black sparkle eyeliner is not in style, but now i have an article to prove it.
i'm not too sure if i will ever actually wear it, but its so fun to put the testers on your hand at sephora, yes i am a loser who plays with that despite the fact that ill probably get some crazy skin disease...its fun!
and on the makeup subject...does anyone know if these work? i want zebra eyes for a day i would feel so weirdly cool...it would be sweet with a simple black dress and red heels!

ps only a few days until thanksgiving (can't wait to wake up at 5 in the morning to walk in the macys thanksgiving day parade in 42 degree weather!)

Phantom=Fashion?

During my lazy Friday evening, i ate at a sushi place(there's a guy with zac efron hair who shook my hand...he loves me) with my boyfriend and watched phantom of the opera. The entire movie i got annoyed with all the singing (just like mama mia) so i focused on the clothes. Of course a skirt with a 10 foot diameter probably isn't practical, but how amazing would it be to incorporate that same feel to everyday stuff. That time period was so elegant, the ladies wore hats and gloves, why can't people look this beautiful today? I hate how lazy our society has become. The soft pink looks stunning with the lace gloves and the tiers on the skirt add alot of volume. I love the top detailing of this dress, but take off the patterned layered skirt and change it to a chic pencil skirt, instant party dress
Of course its one of the most beautiful scenes in the movie, and the dress is amazing, it reminds me of that transition from winter to spring and the detail on the bottom is so intricate.

sick day

For the past few days ive been home dying of what i thought was strep, however it's "only a virus" as the doctor said after torturing me through finger pricks and strep tests. In the mean time, I've slept all day, and watched made and true life, and how could i forger, the trl finale. Over my long weekend, i wasted money at forever21 and bought a cute gray sweater dress at nordstrom. However, im still in a desperate search for the perfect pair of flat boots, everyone is promoting slouchy, but i want rocker-motorcycle boots without them looking like dr.martens(however i do want a sweet pair of burgundy ones) and i also bought the clique movie and 2 bags of cough drops, gotta love those winter viruses! hopefully I'm feeling up to looking cute tomorrow, cause i can not live with myself if i wear sweats for one more day. However, Who: Taylor Momson
What: crimson red marchesa gown, perfectly elegent for the opening night at the metropolitan opera in NYC
Who: anne hathaway
What: gorgeous ruffled alelier versace, very luxe italian

topshop love

purple, velvet, pompoms in a heel?
i think this is supposed to resemble a flappers dress, to me it looks more like lingerie, and there is nothing wrong with that
motorcycle boots: if Rachel bilson wore them, i can too
kinda remind me of a.a. acid washed jeans ripped to shreds
absolute favorite thing in the world(okay kinda an exasperation) i can totally see agyness in something like this, but the collar and the color with the print=a gold star

so i really cant decide between the feminine or the whole scene look, so i combined both. i mean how amazing would a pink layered flapper dress look with a cheetah print blazer and motorcycle boots, or acid washed hot pants with deep violet velvet heels? man i wish topshop was affordable, and located somewhere near me. fashion gods please help me!

english paper

For English i kinda sucked at my last paper so im thinking i should try for this one, we have to write a research paper, and of course i find a way to relate it to fashion. the bad side of fashion that is. the eating disorder, skinny model, bmi ordeal. sure its alot of drama but it also has a point, i don't necessarily think looking a model is going to make you barf up the mint chocolate chip ice cream you just ate, but i do agree it does affect most people even in the slightest way. its something that we all know is not going to change any time soon, "skinny people make the clothes look better" (most people in the industry will tell you that) but should we sit back and let girls starve themselves just to live up to society's standards..its up to you.

oh and the pre-teen inside of me can not wait for the clique movie on dvd (november 18)...sure its going to suck but i can't resist 7th grade drama

haute couture - christian dior

christian dior couture fall 2008, yes its old, but it is still beautiful. the detail in the shoes, and subtle lift to the models forehead with the dark lipstick and dramatic arched eyebrow. The studded shaped bodice adds a tough look to the chiffon dresses, definatly reminscent of a romeo and juliet era corset. The reverse french manicure on the long nails are "scary chic" the pleating on the back of the final gown is so impressive along with the detailed beading and asymetrical buns on the sides of her head

american apparel...yet again

two posts in one night, astonishing!
but i have on obsession with American apparel (despite the "raunchy" ads, there is nothing bad about seeing half a girls boob! its fashion people) i love basics and vintage eyewear. too bad i have no money..
pleated schoolgirl skirt...love it...love the shades.. but hate waiting for a release date
this reminds me of powderpuff girls combined with barbie and that cynthia doll on rugrats. love the color minus the belt though.
i kinda sorta really want these...obsession...nothing is more fun then a 60 dollar dress you can wear 6 ways!

blah

so today was one of those days when i hate everyone in the world. so i took out that anger on mcdonalds (screw my coaches food diary i wanted mcnuggets!) and a trip to old navy for basics. i have a new obsession with deep royal blue and winter florals, however my mom thought they were ugly and wouldnt buy me any. she seems to second guess my knowledge of whats in style.

And on a side note, i hate winter. i want spring and marc jacobs baby florals, and luella pastel suits! no more dreary black and waffle knits to stay warm in the terrible michigan weather
---dream of this girlie---

"I love how it's 70 degrees in november and i take pictures pretending its fall"

thanks to election day i had no school, and what better way to spend it then blowing off homework, sleeping in(kinda i woke up at 930), and taking pictures with leaves! it was oddly warm for November and the Christmas music on the radio really threw me off. Do people really think the mall needs to be decorated for Christmas already? i love christmas, and i think its a beautiful time of year, but november is way to early. but its never to early to make a mental list, right?

my list-well kinda-
laptop (I want a pretty purple one thats all mine so no one trys to take it from me when im working)
camera( not a crappy kodak like i have now, a nice with, ooh and a tripod)
and um everything in vogue, elle, etc.
